The Natural Resources and Environmental Science (NRES) program offers an interdisciplinary approach, merging comprehensive environmental education with technical skills and an understanding of economic, policy, and human dimensions in environmental management. This prepares graduates to effectively tackle 21st-century environmental issues. The program features six specialization tracks: energy and climate solutions, environmental policy and analysis, watershed management, environmental quality and restoration, sustainability science, or emerging environmental challenges. NRES alumni pursue diverse environmental careers across public and private sectors, working with government agencies, consulting firms, and nonprofit organizations.
Those focusing on the Climate and Energy Solutions Concentration complete 21 credit hours of coursework focused on assessing climate impacts, developing adaptation and mitigation strategies, and exploring renewable energy options.
