Landscape architecture education cultivates skills in creative problem-solving, critical analysis, and effective communication. The program features three core components - creative design, technical proficiency, and botanical knowledge. Beginners start in the pre-landscape architecture track, mastering foundational artistic techniques, visual communication, and design principles. After demonstrating first-year aptitude, selected students advance to the professional degree program. The second year introduces more complex assignments that put learned concepts into practice. By the third year, students tackle extensive projects emphasizing sophisticated technical applications. A mandatory cooperative education experience follows, with students spending at least forty weeks working in design firms across the country. The final year centers on practical urban and regional design projects for actual clients.
