Anthropology stands apart from other social sciences by examining humanity through a comprehensive lens, exploring the intersections of culture, biology, history, and language. Our undergraduate program offers a robust four-field approach (biological, archaeological, cultural, and linguistic anthropology) with faculty expertise spanning diverse theoretical, methodological, and substantive areas, giving students thorough anthropological training.
The undergraduate curriculum encompasses all four anthropological fields: biological, archaeological, sociocultural, and linguistic studies. Students gain practical experience through archaeological and bioanthropological fieldwork opportunities. Additionally, majors can specialize by choosing one of six focused concentration areas.
For exceptional students, our honors program serves as a culminating academic experience. This intensive year-long opportunity allows participants to investigate specific research questions within an anthropological subfield and produce an honors thesis based on their original findings.
