The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with a Construction Engineering Technology major is accredited by ABET's Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission at http:www.abet.org. Both the Construction Engineering Technology and Construction Management degree programs start with hands-on education in construction materials and methods, advancing through relevant laboratory work and coursework in construction project management and engineering technology. The Construction Engineering Technology major incorporates engineering fundamentals, whereas the Construction Management major includes studies in residential and civil construction, safety, virtual design and construction, field management, and business management. Each program culminates in a realistic capstone simulation. The School of Construction supports multiple student groups and honor societies. Graduates from both majors are equipped for professional roles in construction and related fields, such as field engineers, estimators, project engineers, superintendents, project managers, owners, and safety managers. These careers are available in commercial, residential, civil, industrial, engineering, and specialty construction sectors at local, national, and international levels. The curriculum focuses on modern technology, leadership development, ethics, and professional conduct. Students are introduced to industry-specific computer tools like CAD, scheduling, estimating, and modeling early on and apply them consistently. Labs are equipped with up-to-date, industry-standard tools in relevant subjects. The School of Construction fosters strong industry and alumni connections, benefiting from substantial support through scholarships, equipment donations, advisory services, and job placement for graduates.
