The combined B.A.E./M.S. program consists of 30 total credits for the M.S. portion, with 24 credits dedicated to coursework and 6 credits allocated to research. Among these, 12 course credits apply to both the M.S. and B.A.E. degrees. This integrated program requires students to complete at least 172 credits overall, which includes four extra three-credit courses and a six-credit research thesis beyond the B.A.E. requirements.

Established in 1910, Penn State's Architectural Engineering Department has maintained a legacy of academic distinction and innovative teaching. We hold the distinction of being the nation's first continuously accredited architectural engineering program, receiving initial accreditation in 1936 from the Engineers Council for Professional Development - the predecessor to today's ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology).
