The four-year Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies (BS) program enables students to concentrate on architecture-related fields, tailor their academic journey, and obtain a pre-professional qualification. Following a core curriculum of design studios and technical classes during the initial two years - which mirrors the Bachelor of Architecture program - students may opt to transition to the five-year architecture degree, select one of three specialized paths (Real Estate Development, Historic Preservation, or XR Game Environments), or investigate diverse architecture-related subjects through numerous minor options.
Beyond acquiring practical skills and hands-on experience, you'll lay the groundwork for professional certification through our master's programs by enrolling in graduate-level coursework during your undergraduate studies. Engage in team-based initiatives, field studies, international education opportunities, and professional internships. With extensive elective choices, you can craft a degree program aligned with your aspirations.
Contemporary real estate extends beyond mere financial returns. Emphasizing the four pillars of development - social impact, environmental responsibility, economic viability, and urban design - modern developers must balance fiscal considerations with ecological stewardship, social awareness, architectural quality, and community involvement. Drawing on Philadelphia's urban landscape, students tackle development projects spanning individual structures to comprehensive neighborhood plans.
