The student's Master of Science curriculum must be structured to achieve a level of proficiency in the primary discipline that substantially exceeds typical undergraduate training, while incorporating foundational and supplementary knowledge standard for professionals in that field. To maintain rigorous standards, the major must contain a minimum of 15 credit hours from 500-level, non-blanket CCE courses. (Blanket courses refer to those numbered 501, 505, 506, and 507.)
Thesis and Non-Thesis Paths: Certain CCE programs may offer a thesis option with the major professor's approval. Alternatively, students may complete a non-thesis technical report. The thesis track typically requires 6-12 credits of CE 503 (Thesis), while the non-thesis option generally involves 3-6 credits of CE 506 (Project) culminating in a technical report.
Transportation systems fulfill fundamental societal requirements for personal mobility and freight movement. Transportation engineering utilizes scientific and technical expertise to deliver cost-effective, efficient transport solutions that align with environmental, energy, and safety objectives.
