Our research in Automotive and Transportation centers on cutting-edge areas including hybrid and advanced powertrains, vehicle dynamics optimization and control systems, innovative structural materials, next-generation manufacturing techniques, and next-gen fuel and combustion technologies. We host the prestigious Automotive Research Center and maintain long-term funding through the General Motors-UM Automotive Collaborative Research Laboratory, which operates three specialized divisions: Advanced Manufacturing, Engine Systems, and Multi-Functional Vehicle Systems.
