Counselors serve a vital function in assisting individuals across all age groups to cope with trauma, anxiety, stress, and other challenges. Our CACREP-accredited counseling program prepares graduates to provide expert counseling services in either clinical mental health or educational environments.
What sets our program apart is outstanding classroom teaching, a collaborative cohort approach that fosters deep connections, and a balanced focus on both theoretical knowledge and practical application. Through carefully supervised practicum placements and internships, students develop essential counseling abilities while experiencing significant personal development.
OSU-Cascades' Master of Counseling program has partnered with High Desert ESD to announce our new Department of Education grant-funded initiative: Promoting and Advancing Training of High Desert School Counselors (PATH-SC). This initiative aims to boost both the quantity and diversity of qualified school counselors in underserved rural K-12 districts by offering financial assistance to participants along with structured mentorship and relationship-building opportunities throughout their training.
