History students acquire expertise and abilities that prepare them for diverse career paths and allow them to apply historical and humanistic viewpoints to major societal challenges, including racial inequity, social disparities, and global conflicts.
After completing the program successfully, students will achieve these educational objectives:
Exhibit research proficiency. This involves skillfully navigating academic databases to locate pertinent primary and secondary materials, evaluating the reliability and significance of available secondary sources, and efficiently obtaining relevant research materials.
Develop meaningful historical inquiries and craft compelling historical arguments. This encompasses establishing a well-supported central claim, providing thorough examination of appropriate historical data, and acknowledging gaps, inconsistencies, and limitations in one's analysis.
