The Education Double Degree (DD) program at the College of Education offers undergraduate students a dual-degree path to becoming teachers, open to all OSU students. This program allows participants to simultaneously complete degrees in both their primary field of study and in Education (earning either a BA or BS), while also qualifying for an Oregon teaching license in their chosen specialization. The Education degree follows Academic Regulation 26a for concurrent degrees.
The DD program involves two phases. The first stage, Pre-Education, covers fundamental education courses that act as prerequisites for the second stage, Professional Education. These initial courses fulfill both core curriculum requirements and elective credits toward students' primary degree. Before advancing to Level II, students must finish all Level I coursework, pass necessary examinations, and satisfy additional admission criteria. Complete program details and application procedures are available on the Education Double Degree website.
