This certification program helps provisionally licensed teachers employed by Virginia school divisions fulfill state licensure requirements. The program includes four courses (12 credit hours) addressing key competency areas outlined by the Virginia Department of Education for full teacher licensure. Note that this is not an officially endorsed state education program.

Participants might need to complete extra courses for full licensure. The Darden College of Education and Professional Studies provides most professional studies courses, including Curriculum and Instruction Procedures, while other colleges offer necessary content-specific coursework.
