The Doctor of Philosophy in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation caters to movement science experts and rehabilitation practitioners (including athletic trainers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists) who hold a master's degree or clinical doctorate and aspire to become academic leaders, educators, and researchers in their disciplines. The program's foundation emphasizes motor control and learning principles as they relate to movement, rehabilitation, daily living tasks, communication, and swallowing for both typical populations and those with physical or neurological challenges. Beyond six mandatory core classes, participants will undertake research coursework, teaching/research apprenticeships, and select a minimum of two electives, totaling no fewer than 51 credits.
