The Department of Psychology is part of the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology, a collaborative initiative between Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University. This APA-accredited program leverages the strengths of both institutions to provide comprehensive training. Participants attend courses at both universities while conducting research and gaining clinical experience. Designed as a scientist-practitioner model, the program focuses on six key areas: (1) ethical practice, (2) cultural diversity, (3) scientific inquiry, (4) psychological evaluation, (5) therapeutic approaches, and (6) professional consultation, supervision, and management skills.
