The Department of Women's and Gender Studies explores gender through diverse academic lenses, focusing on women's experiences across time periods. This interdisciplinary program investigates how gender interacts with race, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, and other identity factors. Graduates emerge as specialists in gender analysis, intersectional frameworks, and social justice, equipped to drive meaningful societal transformation. These competencies give our alumni a distinct advantage in today's workforce, where organizations value professionals with nuanced understanding of identity systems. Faculty mentors guide students in developing critical thinking skills, bridging cultural divides, and collaborating with varied populations.
