The Ocean & Earth Sciences B.S. degree's earth science education track prepares students for careers as secondary school earth science teachers. This curriculum fulfills Virginia's teacher certification standards set by the state Board of Education. Through blended academic coursework and practical experience (featuring a semester-long teaching internship at a nearby high school), graduates gain essential competencies to immediately begin teaching earth science in secondary classrooms after completing their degree.
