The Theatre Major is designed for students passionate about all facets of theater—from performance to production to stage design. Ideal for aspiring directors, producers, or dramaturgs, this program provides comprehensive training in theatrical theory and practice. Students focusing on performance should be prepared to embrace creative challenges, collaborate effectively, and take leadership roles within ODU's theater community. Performance track participants are required to join ODURep and complete an intensive course sequence. Advanced students may qualify for internships with Norfolk's professional Equity company, the Virginia Stage Company.
