The Bachelor's program in Dance (with 7-12 Teacher Certification) offers comprehensive dance education, encompassing technical training, improvisation, choreography, musical accompaniment, dance history and culture, production, dance science, and theoretical studies. The Dance Department equips students for diverse dance professions through a well-rounded curriculum and specialized focus areas.
Designed for aspiring secondary dance educators, this program combines extensive dance instruction with 24 credit hours of education coursework. The curriculum meets all Texas teacher certification standards (TExES) and serves as excellent preparation for private studio teaching as well.
UTRGV holds accreditation from the State Board of Educator Certification to endorse graduates of this program for teaching credentials upon completion of all degree requirements.
