Old Dominion University's history program readies graduates for diverse professions including government, legal fields, global commerce, teaching, media, and beyond. ODU history alumni have pursued doctoral studies in historical research and adjacent disciplines within humanities and social sciences. Numerous program graduates have distinguished themselves as outstanding educators. High-achieving undergraduates can enroll in this accelerated track, applying up to 12 graduate-level history credits toward both bachelor's and master's degrees. Participants in this dual-degree pathway must complete at least 150 total credits (120 distinct credits for the undergraduate portion and 30 distinct credits for the graduate portion).
