The Ohio State University College of Dentistry provides a graduate program culminating in an MS degree. Students can also pursue a PhD through the Oral Biology PhD Program. Both academic paths can be combined with specialized clinical training through accredited dental specialty certificate programs. Advanced clinical dentistry training is available in these disciplines, blending hands-on practice with theoretical coursework in foundational and clinical sciences: Dental Anesthesiology, Endodontics, Oral Pathology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics, and Prosthodontics. Graduates who successfully complete their specialty program earn a certification and become qualified to take specialty board exams.
The master's program aims to: Educate graduate students in scientific methodology's theoretical and practical components, Equip clinical specialists with lifelong skills to assess research literature critically, enabling them to integrate evolving healthcare principles into practice, Expand understanding in craniofacial biology, biomedical science, and clinical treatment approaches, and Develop educators who can assume leadership roles in academia and the scientific community while advancing knowledge about oral and craniofacial disorders and abnormalities.
A baccalaureate or professional degree (or equivalent foreign credential) from an accredited college or university, earned by the expected date of entry into your graduate program. A minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in all prior undergraduate and graduate work.
