The Department of Operative Dentistry educates dental students in core principles, covering caries treatment (identification, prevention, restoration methods) and dental material science. Its central mission is developing students' expertise, practical abilities, analytical reasoning, and clinical decision-making for addressing dental caries, non-carious tooth conditions (wear patterns, structural issues, discoloration, injuries), and cosmetic dental improvements. Additionally, the department plays a vital national role in pioneering dental research and cutting-edge restorative techniques through faculty collaborations and its specialized Operative Dentistry Certificate program.
