The Department of Comparative Studies provides interdisciplinary graduate programs at both master's and doctoral levels for cultural studies. Students from other Ohio State departments can pursue a graduate minor. The curriculum focuses on cross-cultural examination of cultural transformation, continuity, and exchange, emphasizing knowledge formation and power dynamics. The Comparative Studies MA and PhD cater to scholars needing multidisciplinary approaches. With faculty guidance, each graduate student crafts a customized academic path to address research questions spanning multiple academic fields.
A baccalaureate or professional degree (or equivalent foreign credential) from an accredited college or university, earned by the expected date of entry into your graduate program. A minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in all prior undergraduate and graduate work.
