Our premier Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program equips students to teach English as a second language across all educational levels, from early childhood to higher education, both domestically and internationally, or to continue toward doctoral degrees. Alumni emerge as socially conscious professionals ready for diverse roles in education and consulting.
Tailored for both international and domestic candidates, this 11-month intensive MA in TESOL program at our Malibu campus delivers comprehensive training in language acquisition methods, teaching strategies, and the intricate connections between language and cultural contexts.
Following the scholar-practitioner approach, the curriculum combines demanding academic work with hands-on teaching practicums in diverse, multilingual classrooms. Students complete their studies with a digital capstone project, choosing to emphasize either practical teaching applications or academic research.
