Qualification Requirements

  • Credentials documenting prerequisite academic work that provides evidence of ability to pursue a graduate program in your chosen area. Consult your intended graduate program for more information.
  • An earned 4-year baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university prior to beginning graduate studies.
  • The university requires, at minimum, a cumulative grade point average equivalent of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (B grade) in all prior undergraduate and graduate level work. The School of Communication requires a minimum cumulative grade point average equivalent to at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for prior undergraduate work and, if applicable, at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in prior graduate level work.

English Language requirements:

  • 640 Paper-based TOEFL
  • 111 Internet-based TOEFL (IBT); a score of 28 on the speaking section of the IBT required for financial aid
  • 8.5 IELTS if from non-native English speaking country
