The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers three graduate programs at the Master's level: an MA in Mathematics - delivering comprehensive mathematical training with a focus on engineering applications, software development, biological modeling using dynamical systems, epidemiology, population dynamics, and network analysis; an MS in Applied Statistics - equipping students with advanced theoretical, conceptual, and computational statistical techniques applicable across diverse fields including industrial quality control, biological research, and medical sciences; and an MS in Industrial Applied Mathematics (MSIAM) - emphasizing computational mathematics for students pursuing careers in industrial settings.

Qualification Requirements

Admission is selective. All applicants who have received a baccalaureate from an accredited institution with a cumulative grade point average or 3.00 or more will be considered. The successful candidate's background should include courses in multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations, and a knowledge of at least one high-level scientific programming language such as Pascal, Fortran, C, or PL/1. Students admitted without some aspects of the required background will be expected to remedy the deficiency before enrolling in many of the courses of the program.
