The Master of Science in Mathematics for Educators caters to current and aspiring secondary or community college math teachers. This pathway enhances educators' mathematical knowledge and pedagogical skills, covering curriculum design, instruction methods, learning strategies, evaluation techniques, and educational research. The curriculum combines mathematics education courses with pure and applied mathematics, statistics, data science, and selected offerings from the College of Education.
Our graduate offerings span theoretical mathematics, practical applications, mathematics instruction, and statistical analysis, focusing on establishing robust fundamentals while introducing advanced methodologies. Students benefit from close mentorship and collaborative relationships with professors.

These programs accommodate both traditional students and working professionals, with graduate classes typically beginning after 4PM. Most courses meet twice weekly, scheduled either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Certain mathematics education and applied statistics courses feature once-weekly sessions to better serve employed participants.

MATH 364A - Ordinary Differential Equations I (3 units)
MATH 444 - Introduction to Abstract Algebra (3 units)

Have earned a grade point average of at least 2.5 on the last degree completed by the candidate or have attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 (A=4.0) in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted.
