The nine-month general LLM program provides exceptional graduates from international law schools with a chance to deepen their understanding of U.S. legal systems, pursue advanced studies in global law, and conduct comparative legal analysis.
Alumni from this program hail from over 50 nations and occupy leadership roles across various professional fields, working as legal practitioners, academics, judicial officers, corporate legal advisors, policy consultants, human rights advocates, financial professionals, and government officials.
Situated along Chicago's scenic lakefront in the downtown core, our campus offers an inspiring environment for academic and residential life. As America's third-largest metropolis and a global financial hub, Chicago boasts one of the nation's most significant legal markets. Northwestern Law's central location near judicial institutions, commercial enterprises, and public service organizations allows students to engage with both legal theory and practice within one of the world's most dynamic legal and business ecosystems.
Admitted students must hold a U.S. bachelor’s degree or a comparable non-U.S. degree from a regionally accredited institution.
TOEFL or IELTS test scores are required of most international applicants.
