The applied mathematics bachelor's degree equips students with the skills to utilize mathematical concepts and methods for solving real-world engineering and scientific challenges.
Graduates earning this degree will be prepared for careers in industry or advanced studies in mathematics (theoretical or applied) as well as engineering disciplines like computer science and operations research. The program's adaptable structure enables students to focus a significant portion of their studies on either advanced mathematics or specialized application areas.
Secondary school record
Northwestern accepts results from both the TOEFL and the IELTS.
There is no minimum score required by Northwestern. Competitive applicants demonstrate a high level of English proficiency and often score in the high range on all four sections (Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing) of the TOEFL iBT, or receive IELTS band scores in highest three bands on the overall and individual scores (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking).
