The Department of Mathematics (https://www.math.fsu.edu/) provides undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including Bachelor of Science (BS), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Master of Science (MS), Master of Arts (MA), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. (Consult the Graduate Bulletin for specifics on master's and doctoral programs.) High-achieving undergraduates, particularly those with prior college credits, may qualify for an accelerated bachelor's/master's track, enabling them to complete both degrees in approximately five years. A mathematics degree serves as either a cornerstone of liberal arts education or groundwork for advanced studies in mathematics or related disciplines. Graduates can enter diverse fields such as industry, finance, government, or education at secondary and postsecondary levels. The Actuarial Science specialization focuses on preparing students for professional roles in insurance and financial services.
