The United States stands as a diverse, multicultural nation in today's interconnected global landscape shaped by movement and mutual reliance. The Asian American Studies Program embraces this truth and equips students to engage meaningfully in our contemporary society.
Exploring Asian American histories and perspectives provides valuable insights into globalization, cross-cultural dynamics, and international affairs while helping students understand their own identity within an evolving worldwide framework.
Graduate programs in law, medicine, business administration, along with tech sectors and other industries, highly value applicants with robust humanities and social science training. They particularly seek candidates knowledgeable about diversity, cultural nuances, racial equity, and global interconnectedness. These fields also prioritize individuals capable of analytical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication - core competencies cultivated through Asian American studies.
