The Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion Program trains students in the specialized field of operating heart-lung machines and performing related cardiovascular procedures, including emergency cardiac care. As vital members of surgical teams, perfusionists collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons and anesthesiologists. Program graduates qualify to take the two-part national certification exam administered by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP), with successful candidates earning the Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) credential.
Our program aims to develop skilled entry-level perfusionists by combining evidence-based education, research opportunities, and comprehensive clinical training. We foster critical thinking through scientific inquiry and historical perspectives, enabling graduates to seamlessly apply theoretical knowledge to real-world clinical situations.
