The Master of Gerontological Studies (MGS) program equips students for diverse careers in aging-related sectors. MGS alumni typically pursue one of three paths: academic research, policy development, or direct service roles outside social work. Graduates secure positions across public and private organizations as administrators, planners, practitioners, researchers, advocates, and educators. The field continually creates new opportunities for skilled gerontology professionals. Approximately 50% of MGS graduates eventually pursue doctoral studies. The MGS program offers:
Comprehensive training in social gerontology theory, policy, and research methods
Practical experience via customized, supervised fieldwork (available locally or internationally)
Networking opportunities with aging professionals through research collaborations and mentorship programs
