The graduate certificate in trauma-informed counseling is open to all graduate students who maintain good academic standing. This program aims to equip or strengthen clinicians at the master's or doctoral level for diverse agency and therapeutic settings. The curriculum emphasizes key aspects of trauma exposure, shared treatment principles and results, organizational dedication to trauma-sensitive care, crisis management, and developmental, exposure-based, experiential, and cognitive-behavioral methods for culturally appropriate interventions throughout different life stages.

Qualification Requirements

An applicant whose native language is not English must present an IELTS score of 6.5 or alternatively, a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the TOEFL ibt, 213 on the scale of 0-300, or at least 550 on the older scale of 310-677 where applicable. Normally, to be considered for admission, a non-U.S. citizen shall have completed a four-year undergraduate degree. A minimum 2.75 overall GPA on a 4.00 system or a 3.20 GPA with 15 or more semester hours of graduate work at an accredited institution.
