The multidisciplinary public health curriculum focuses on global population health, encompassing the five fundamental domains of public health:
Biostatistics
Environmental health sciences
Epidemiology
Health policy and administration
Social and behavioral sciences
This program highlights public health leadership and the management competencies required for leadership positions in the field. Through a combination of academic instruction and hands-on training, students develop the expertise needed for leadership positions in disease prevention and health promotion initiatives. Electives are chosen in collaboration with other academic units, concentrating on essential leadership and administrative capabilities.
The MPH curriculum equips students to qualify for both the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and Certified in Public Health (CPH) examinations. These credentials demonstrate to employers that graduates possess the foundational competencies expected of public health practitioners. Alumni will also be well-positioned to pursue graduate studies in public health (PhD or DrPH) or professional degrees in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, or dental medicine.
