This cross-disciplinary certification offers comprehensive training in media literacy and analytical reasoning. The program enhances undergraduate studies across multiple fields and is especially valuable for those pursuing or engaged in careers involving media creation, journalism, communications, branding, graphic design, cultural analysis, government, and writing. Participants must sustain satisfactory academic performance, earn no less than a C in all required courses, maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA for certificate classes, and finish all requirements within six years. Certain courses may have prerequisites outside the certificate's scope. All coursework must be completed at NIU. Beyond the listed electives, any specialized undergraduate course concentrating on cinema or broadcast media may qualify for the certificate upon approval from the Film and Television Studies Certificate program coordinator.
