This program integrates coursework from the Colleges of Liberal Arts and Sciences along with Engineering and Engineering Technology, exposing students to renewable energy technologies and sustainability challenges. The curriculum centers on eco-conscious approaches to energy generation, industrial processes, materials development, and sustainable transportation systems. Complementary studies in humanities and social sciences provide insight into energy's societal significance. Available exclusively for the Bachelor of Science degree, NIU's Environmental Studies program equips graduates to tackle ecological issues at various scales.
