Candidates interested in this path must declare their intent to pursue the accelerated track with the English department. Eligible undergraduates majoring in English must have completed at least 90 semester hours (including all general education and major requirements) while maintaining a minimum 3.25 GPA to qualify for admission to NIU's College of Law through this special program. Applicants must take the LSAT and achieve a score exceeding the 50th percentile of the previous year's entering law class. It's highly recommended that students complete the LSAT and submit their law school application by February 15 of their junior year. Admission is competitive, with decisions based on the applicant pool's size and qualifications, general law school applicant quality, and standard admissions criteria used by the College of Law.
