The Master of Arts in Teaching for Secondary Education program aims to build upon your core competencies, expand your outlook, and reinforce your capacity to motivate and instruct students. Equivalent to a Master of Arts in Secondary Education, it fosters recognition of the varied academic requirements, societal issues, and cultural contexts present in modern secondary education.

Through this MAT in Secondary Education, you'll refine your fundamental abilities, widen your viewpoints, and bolster your talent for engaging and teaching young minds. After finishing this graduate program - which incorporates pre-practicum observations and a full semester of student teaching - you'll be prepared to create significant positive change within your school, local area, and students' lives.

The MAT pathway offers eligible candidates the chance to obtain a Master of Arts in Teaching while specializing in a chosen field. Presently, participants can pursue supplementary coursework to gain additional certification in either special education (for moderate disabilities at preK-8 or 5-12 levels) or ESL instruction (for English language learners at preK-8 or 5-12 levels). In collaboration with the program director, aspiring educators can also design a curriculum leading to triple certification.
