This program aims to enhance the mathematical knowledge of middle and high school educators, offering specialized courses focused on mathematics instruction for grades 7-12. Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree equivalent in mathematics prior to enrollment.
For Plan A, students must complete Mathematics 524, Mathematics Education 603, choose three units from Mathematics 510 or 600, select three units from Mathematics 520 or 601, pick three units from Mathematics 530 or 602, take six units from Mathematics 509, 720, Mathematics Education 604, 605, 606, or 607, complete six advisor-approved elective units, and finish Mathematics 799A (Thesis).
Plan B requires Mathematics 524, Mathematics Education 603, three units from Mathematics 510 or 600, three units from Mathematics 520 or 601, three units from Mathematics 530 or 602, nine units from Mathematics 509, 720, Mathematics Education 604, 605, 606, or 607, plus six advisor-approved electives. Additionally, students must successfully pass a comprehensive mathematics education examination.
