The Theatre Department thrives as a dynamic collective of students, staff, and professors, united by principles of kindness, honesty, mutual respect, and academic excellence. Serving as a center for artistic investigation, we champion theatre and performance as both a living art form and a cross-disciplinary field of study.
Our undergraduate programs integrate hands-on theatrical creation (including production, design, and acting) with scholarly exploration and research through practice. Students gain comprehensive exposure to and specialized understanding of theatre as a multifaceted artistic discipline. The curriculum equips learners to produce and share insights via groundbreaking creative research, work cooperatively with goodwill and authenticity, employ antiracist theatrical methods, pursue professional opportunities that foster meaningful, principled, and socially conscious contributions promoting equity, and engage as thoughtful community members examining theatre's cultural, societal, and moral influences.
