The Departments of Sociology & Anthropology and Philosophy & Religion provide an interdisciplinary joint major in sociology and philosophy. This program blends the examination of societal frameworks with explorations in social/political philosophy, ethics, and philosophy of science. Philosophy tackles fundamental inquiries about morality, community, faith, and scientific disciplines. The philosophy curriculum equips learners with philosophical methodologies and historical perspectives while fostering critical, collective contemplation about existence and humanity's place in it. Through textual analysis, debates, and written work, participants assess the soundness of ethical conclusions, political concepts, and scientific hypotheses, alongside evaluating principles and regulations in fields like jurisprudence, healthcare, ecology, and innovation.
