The Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education (BAS) equips students for careers as lead teachers for infants/preschoolers and administrative roles in early learning programs and nonprofit organizations. Through a combination of academic coursework and hands-on practicum experience, students gain expertise in evidence-based teaching and mentoring techniques. Most students complete approximately 90 credits, though this may differ based on prior college credits.
In collaboration with Seattle Public Schools, the college will introduce the Academy for Rising Educators (ARE) BAS Cohort starting Fall 2021. This cohort extends the existing ARE Pathway that originates at Seattle Central College.
