The communication graduate program provides advanced studies culminating in Master of Arts (M.A.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. This curriculum equips students for academic roles, leadership positions, and professional growth in their current fields.
Each student's research initiatives and academic path are customized to align with personal goals and interests. The program encourages interdisciplinary graduate coursework to enrich the educational experience.
The Ph.D. curriculum is structured for completion within four years, demanding a minimum of 60 credit hours post-master's degree. These credits follow a carefully designed study plan supervised by the student's advisor and committee.
Applicants holding master's degrees in unrelated fields might need supplementary graduate coursework in specific communication areas, as determined by their advisory team. While the committee may recognize additional post-master's credits, only up to 9 semester hours can apply toward the Ph.D.'s 60-credit requirement.
