North Dakota State University's visual arts program features diverse degree options spanning graphic design, painting, printmaking, ceramics, drawing, sculpture, and photography, along with an Art Education degree. The curriculum encompasses extensive course offerings grounded in the belief that cultivating creative strategy, digital proficiency, design skills, analytical thinking, and art historical knowledge equips students for contemporary art and design careers. The Visual Arts Department attracts students from across the University through its dynamic major and minor programs. Whether pursued as a primary career path or complementary to another discipline, art and design represents one of the most adaptable fields of study. Housed in one of the region's premier art and design facilities, the department boasts eight professional artist-educators who personally instruct all courses. As an exclusively undergraduate program, we prioritize personalized attention, maintain small class sizes, and deliver exceptional academic guidance for our students.
