Zoology explores the science of animal life, offering students a comprehensive education in animal biology. The curriculum builds a solid foundation through core courses that cover diverse aspects, from molecular and cellular structures to entire ecosystems. Upper-level electives allow students to either focus on specific interests or maintain a broad perspective, aligning with personal aspirations. Unlike the Biological Sciences degree, the Zoology B.S. places greater emphasis on animal-specific studies, mandating coursework in anatomy, physiology, and evolutionary relationships. This program equips graduates for advanced studies in fields like medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, or graduate research in specialized biological disciplines. Career opportunities span government agencies, private sectors, and nonprofit organizations, while others pursue advanced degrees in areas such as ecology, marine biology, or biomedical sciences.
