Biology stands as one of science's most fundamental disciplines, directly impacting human life. Humanity's ongoing survival on Earth hinges significantly on addressing biological challenges. This wide-ranging field spans diverse topics from medical studies to environmental systems. Western Illinois University's Biology curriculum offers students comprehensive exposure to the discipline's many specializations.
The program provides major tracks in Biology (with concentrations in Botany, Environmental Biology, Microbiology, Zoology, Medical Sciences, and Science/Biology Teacher Education) and Clinical Laboratory Science, all culminating in a Bachelor of Science degree. Students can also pursue minors in Botany, Horticulture, Microbiology, Middle Level Science Teaching, and Zoology.
