Educators play a significant role in shaping individuals' social, personal, and cognitive growth. Their impact comes from a passion for knowledge, an ability to inspire new perspectives, insight into human development, and professional expertise. Typical teaching responsibilities involve: designing curriculum, delivering lessons, communicating with parents and school officials, and staying current in their subject area. The College of Education offers a specific program for aspiring science teachers: The High School Science Education program equips graduates to teach science in grades 9-12. Participants in this program focus on one of four specializations: biology, chemistry, earth science, or physics.
