You'll examine ideas through dramatic techniques and theatrical forms in classrooms and performances while training to become a theatre practitioner and educator in schools. This program qualifies you for New York State initial certification. You'll undertake studies in drama, theatre literature, and performance, aligned with New York's four Arts Learning Standards. Using an inquiry-driven teaching approach, you'll take foundational methods courses connecting theory to application, while developing a richer comprehension of teaching theatre as an art and incorporating drama across academic subjects at various grade levels. Master unique teaching methods and approaches that are creative and effective for instructing drama and theatre to contemporary K-12 students.
