NYU Steinhardt's Costume Studies program collaborates with Long Island University's Palmer School of Library and Information Science to provide this combined degree opportunity. Alongside earning an MA in Costume Studies, students can obtain an ALA-accredited MS in Library and Information Science (MSLIS). This dual-degree path merges specialized subject expertise with professional accreditation, creating distinctive career advantages. Participants gain from both the concentrated Costume Studies coursework and comprehensive library science training, equipping them for specialized roles demanding both domain knowledge and library certification. Both programs are located at NYU's Washington Square campus. The library science courses are held at Bobst Library, NYU's primary library facility, while Costume Studies operates from the Barney Building in the East Village. Both degrees prioritize research and analytical skills, supported by NYU's exceptional academic resources.
