The school library media center serves as a central point for accessing technology resources, processing information, and fostering literary growth. School librarians play a vital role as support specialists for educators, providing instructional materials in both print and dynamic visual formats. ETSU's Master of Education in School Librarianship program facilitates a smooth career shift from teaching to library science. Program graduates embark on fulfilling careers where they can fully utilize their expertise. This M.Ed. program equips students to earn certification as K-12 school library media specialists, with coursework meeting the standards of the American Library Association, American Association of School Librarians, and Tennessee state licensing requirements.
Students seeking admission to the School Librarianship Program must first meet the general requirements of the School of Graduate Studies.
Applicants need to possess a minimum overall undergraduate or graduate level GPA of 3.0 OR meet or exceed minimum score requirement on the GRE: Verbal Reasoning 151; Quantitative Reasoning 153; and Analytic Writing 3.5.
Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts may be submitted with your application. Official transcripts will be required upon acceptance to a Graduate program.

GPA- 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Applicants with a 3.0 GPA do NOT need the GRE.
Test Scores
